Youth Development Programs
 


Project IMPACT
will serve as the primary vehicle for the delivery of social services to area youth and families. The core of the program is promoting healthy school and home environments that maximize student success and family growth in a positive way. Project IMPACT provides a myriad of services that address teen pregnancy, drug & alcohol use, school dropout, violence, gangs and unhealthy choices. Students will have access to school-based and after-school programs offered by Project IMPACT that include:

  
 

  • Mentoring that offers an array of activities which build resilience for overcoming adversities and promotes a sense of belonging and bonding among family, community and peers.
  • Tutoring in reading, language arts and math.
  • The MerryMaker's Summer Camp for 1st through 8th grades that will focus on Academics, Character, Athletics, Technoogy and the Arts.
  • The Michigan College Tour Program for students in grades 9 -12 that will allow our children to visit and learn about higher education in Michigan.
  • Presentations addressing abstinence, anger management, school dropout and substance abuse issues.
  • ACT test preparation
   

  • 5 Star After School Program focusing on Abilities, Academics, Arts, Athletics & Attitude.

  • The Annual Back-to-School Youth Rally that will bring together students for entertainment, while promoting a drug-free and stay-in-school message.
  • Athletic and recreational activities that develop sport skills, leadership and character.
  • The Summer Employment Opportunities Program for youth who have a history of successful participation in Project IMPACT programs.
  • Youth Outreach Center that serves as a neighborhood hub for a variety of social, educational, physical and entertainment activities for youth.
  • S.I.S. & B.R.O. (Sisters Influencing Sisters/Brothers Reaching Out) peer support groups address the needs and issues of youth grades 7-12.
