The other two programs that we will be introducing are STAR Sportsmanship & Kid's College ( www.learningthroughsports.com ). They are both fantastic, cutting edge programs that will give your child an advantage in their academic career from the classroom to the playground.

Kid's College is a program that combines sports video games and Michigan grade level standards to build each student's proficiency in math and language arts. As stated on their web site, they "deliver state aligned Math, Reading and Character Education through the most engaging sports video games available today." Your child will be able to access Kid's College from home 24/7 and you, as a parent, are emailed the reports of their progress. While the program keeps your child's attention by giving them instant positive rewards, it is also self-paces, allowing them to move at their own ability. Some of the benefits of the program are presentation in an audio format, customized workbooks and it evaluates your child's strengths and weaknesses and prescribes activities accordingly.

Children see so many examples today of negative behavior; on the t.v., at school and even in adults and athletes. Utilizing a program called STAR Sportsmanship, we will help equip your child so that they can deal with difficult situations (i.e. bullying) while learning the importance of teamwork, respecting others, making the right choices and how their actions affect othrs. STAR (Stop Think Act Replay) will help them learn to manage certain situations that they encounter in their everyday lives.

What does your child's day look like? After a light breakfast, we meet together as a group and go over the day's activities, reveiw the weekly champion quote and talk about the champions of the BIble. We then break into grade based groups to do some fun reading and math activities. Other activities for the morning are computer lab, games & fitness and for the 7th & 8th graders - year book creation. After lunch, we will again split into grade based groups and participate in that week's session activites (sports / arts / music). One day a week, each week, all of the children will go swimming. With a couple of exceptions, the children will be going on fieldtrips each Friday.
